“欲速则不达”，出自《论语》（The Analects of Confucius），意思是“过于性急图快，反而不能达到目的（The faster one tried to finish, the longer it seemed to take him.）”，可以译为“more haste, less speed” 。
与英文习语“haste makes waste”意思相近，表示“rushing through a task often creates problems or extra work” 。
例句：
欲速则不达，你得一步一步地干 。
Haste makes waste. You have got to do it step by step.
A: 赶紧把我的车修好 。
A: Hurry up and get my car fixed.
B: 别催我了，欲速则不达 。B: Don't rush me. Haste makes waste.
